Leadership Delray: where passion meets purpose

If you have a passion for the Delray community and a desire to serve it in a leadership role, plan to participate in the Leadership Delray program where you learn your Community from the inside out.  It is all about first-hand experiences and behind-the-scenes access, where you’ll get an intimate look at how all facets of our community work and the challenges they face—education, health care, emergency services, local government, the arts and more – while exploring aspects of leadership.

PROGRAM DETAILS

Leadership Delray exists through the Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce to ensure the continuity of community leaders who can mobilize others to action, who know the value of relationships and make the commitment to lead. This modernized program is created to inform and transform civic and business-minded citizens in homegrown issues through eight- themed educational sessions, gained social capital networks, and active project-based learning. 

Benefits

Leadership Delray participants will become part of an influential network of civic and business leaders in Delray Beach.  Participants will have a professional advantage within their organizations through an expanded social capital network; connection to business and government leaders; and through knowing their leadership capacity.

Timeline / Classes:

• 8 Themed Community Days once per month from 8:30am - 4:30pm
• Orientation / Kick Off Wednesday, October 10th, 6:00 - 8:00pm
• Graduation in June
• = 10 Total sessions

Requirements:

• A demonstrated commitment to being involved in the city and the Chamber
• Participation in 9 of the 10 sessions
• Attend one City of Delray Beach Commission Meeting
• Attend one City of Delray Beach Planning & Zoning meeting
